This is Grace Urbanski – grandchild number 2 – age 5.
Grace, along with her mom and dad and 2 brothers live about 40 minutes from Grandma and Grandpa. Mommy teaches here in South Bend and they commute every day. Sometimes, when Daddy is out of town on business, they spend the night at our house and go to school in the morning – which is 5 minutes from our house. Yesterday was one of those days. Joe left for Vegas, Carrie and the kids spent Sunday afternoon with us and we had a “sleepover”. About 8:00 last night, Carrie is getting Nolan and Jack ready for bed and Grace finds Grandpa lying on the couch in the family room – watching football. The conversation went something like this…..
“Grandpa – can I sleep with Grandma?”
“Well, where’s Grandpa going to sleep?”
“Right where you are.”
Unfortunately, Grandpa won out, and Grace settled for a pile of blankets on the floor – next to Grandma’s side of the bed.
