The winter months have some kind of "weird" effect on me. It actually finds me in the kitchen - enjoying my oven. I mean, if I didn't have to work and have a million other things pulling me in all kinds of directions, I'd love to prepare great meals each and every evening - but then, I have this other life that prevents my gourmet side from finding it's way to the surface. I took my last "personal" day yesterday and enjoyed spending the day at home. Finished wrapping Christmas gifts and I actually cooked a hot meal. A few weeks ago, I discovered the absolute BEST website.
Not only is this woman an awesome photographer, she sounds like a wonderful wife, mother and cook. I've enjoyed her witty stories of life on the ranch - married to a hunky cowboy. Anyway, Pioneer Woman also has a second website loaded with some great recipes - two of which I tried out on Sunday and Monday.
I am posting a couple of her photos (for the finished recipes) here - all credit goes to her. Please visit her website and be prepared to stay awhile - she's addicting! Her photography will BLOW YOU AWAY!!!! I made these Holiday Bacon Appetizers for Ben and Jack's birthday party on Sunday. Sinful and delicious!!!! Here's the recipe and a photo of these little goodies.

Yesterday, I made the Chicken Spaghetti recipe and got a major TWO THUMBS UP from my household.
