According to the photographer (my talented friend, Jenny Hoke), Anna didn’t want to have much to do with Jenny at the beginning of the shoot. But she eventually became agreeable and even bestowed a kiss upon the photographer. I’m thinking this was a “test run” for the flower girl photos in August.

Birthday Celebration #2
It's fun to be ONE - and little Miss Anna is the big ONE!!! I've never quite seen a celebration like this one. I think every friend her mommy and daddy have were there along with LOTS of family. I even saw a police car patrol through the car-packed cul-de-sac. I'm sure he thought he was going to break up some WILD party and not a little girl's 1st birthday party.

Grace and Anna....
Grandaughters - I have two of them. They are the twinkling stars in the heaven that is my life!!!
Grace can't keep her hands off of Anna - and Anna is starting to get a mind of her own when it comes to Grace. They will both be flower girls in Chrissie's wedding next summer, and as Grace loves to tell everyone, "I'm in charge of Anna". Someday, Anna may just be "in charge" of Grace.

Grandma's Girls
In November, when Baby Boy Van Fleit joins our family - the grandchildren count will be:
Boys - 4
Girls - 2
Grace and Anna are going to have to team up together against all those rough-housing boys!
From the looks of this photo, they won't have any problem with the "teaming up".
(And, if any of my photo editing friends are out there....I just bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get rid of this bottle in front of Grace. I need HELP!)

Total Concentration....
Grandma had her camera and Anna was the perfect subject - except for the fact that Anna could care less that Grandma had her camera.
Trying to get the attention of an 8-month old when they are deep in concentration is impossible.

I mean - come on! How am I supposed to compete with this colorful, musical treat sitting in front of her? All the tongue clicking and lip kissing and name calling and whistling - it's like the child is totally oblivious to anything but what's right in front of her.

OK - fine. If I can't get the attention of your beautiful face, I'll concentrate on your cute little baby shoes.

A Few Hundred Hearts.....
At Saturday evening's wedding reception, I heard a young man tell Bobby (after meeting Anna for the first time), "Well, she's only going to break a few hundred hearts". Bobby just smiled and shook his head.
Nothing to worry about now honey - just wait until she's 16. That's when the sleepless nights will begin.

Grandpa's Girls
For 3 1/2 years, there was only one "princess" in Grandpa's life and that was Grace. She didn't have to share Grandpa's lovin' with her brothers or her cousin Ben - 'cause she was the only grandaughter. Then, Anna came along in September. But you know what? Grace doesn't seem to mind one bit.
Being surrounded by boys - Gracie loves having her little cousin - even if it means sharing Grandpa's hugs and kisses.

Nothing Quite Like It.....
Is there anything sweeter than a baby's smile? You know - that smile of recognition when they see someone they know loves them? Little Anna comes to visit most Sunday afternoons and of course when I pull out the camera - she just stares at me. And then I'll hear Angela, "Bobby - come in here and make Anna smile". All he has to do is say her name, and she bubbles all over with smiles and happiness - feet kicking and arms waving.
