Carrie and I vacationed in Hawaii in June. When we checked into our resort on the big island, it was almost sunset as we headed for our room. There are no windows in the lobby area – all open air. We walked across and looked out at the ocean vista and heard the sound of a conch shell being blown. Every evening at sunset, this young man ran across the grounds, lighting the torches and blowing the shell – signaling another day’s end – in paradise.
