The rehearsal dinner was a time to celebrate with family and friends before the craziness of the wedding day. The Skillet allowed us to to stay as long as we wanted and just enjoy our time with each other. The room was filled with lots of LAUGHTER!!! Definitely a time to CELEBRATE!!

Rehearsal Dinner
Friday was Kevin’s 22nd birthday and Friday night was the Rehearsal Dinner at The Skillet.
The girls started the day with pedicures and a stop at the reception hall to put out the place cards and table numbers, prior to our arrival at St. Monica. Kevin sported a tie and was ready to celebrate with his sister.
As soon as the rehearsal dinner was complete, he took off for the McKinley Pub with his dad, his uncle and his siblings for a little birthday/pre-wedding celebration. As for me, it was home and to bed for what I hoped would be a good night’s sleep prior to the “big day”.

Do You Remember?
Do you remember your first love? Do you remember being 17 and 18 and not having a whole lot to worry about? I look at these two….and my mind drifts back about 35 years.
Something I’ve Always Wanted To Learn To Do…..
When I was a little girl, my grandmother taught me crochet and embroider. The embroidery took me through YEARS of counted cross stitch. The crochet lessons were like riding a bike – you never forget how to do it. A couple of years ago, I crocheted afghans for all of my kids for Christmas. But, in the back of my mind I always had the desire to learn to knit. About a month ago, I discovered The Red Purl in Niles, Michigan. I signed up for a beginner’s class and that’s all it took. I love everything about it – the yarns, the colors and the way it makes me feel so relaxed when I’m working on a project. Friday nights, you can sit there amidst all that yarn, along with other knitters and work on your project. I did that a couple of weeks ago and had so much fun. This Friday night, my friend Lisa and I are going out to dinner and then spending our evening at The Red Purl.
I’m sure my grandmother would be proud to know that those early years under her guidance haven’t been forgotten – and I think of her every time I pick up a project.
